WHAT DOES THE PISA EXAMINATE?
The school plays an important role in the development of literacy, which refers not only to the ability to read and write, but also to mathematical, scientific and technological literacy, which is necessary for success in modern society.
PISA research emphasizes reading, math and science literacy and also explores other competencies, such as problem solving, creative thinking, financial literacy, etc. PISA also collects data on students' socioeconomic status, their family and cultural heritage, and school and system factors that influence their achievement. Participation in PISA allows research from participating countries to track changes in student achievement over time.
